Established at 1976, Potomac Chinese School is a Maryland registered, non-profit school, whose primary objectives are teaching students to comprehend and exercise basic Chinese conversation, reading, and writing; and promoting students' understanding of the Chinese Culture. The school board, consisting of volunteer parents, manages the school. Education board of Maryland has recognized the school's Chinese curriculum and credits since 1995.

Servicing in Washington DC Metropolitan area, Potomac Chinese School has more than 200 students from MD, VA, and DC. Potomac Chinese School provides variety classes at Sunday afternoon, hosted in Hoover Middle School, Potomac, Maryland. Chinese education adapts a set of simple Chinese characters and "ping yin" textbooks specially designed for abroad Chinese language education. From kindergarten to 12 grade, Potomac Chinese School has a professional faculty and complete system for Chinese education.

Students of Potomac Chinese School are enjoying the high quality Chinese classes, as well as plenty of extra-curriculum activities, including chess, painting, Chinese drawing, ping-pong, karate, tennis, volleyball, SAT preparation, and so on. The parent teams are well known of sports in Chinese communities too.

To continuously improve education quality, and with the space limitation, the school intends to keep current size of enrollment, so that we can maintain proper faculty / student ratio and let every student share enough guidance.
